There have been huge advancements in our knowledge about the universe since Carl Sagan did the television series called Cosmos. Dark matter/energy wasn’t discovered until 1998, almost two years after Carl Sagan died in 1996. If you haven’t watched these videos by Hugh Ross PhD, I would strongly urge you to do so. Reverence and awe with regard to the creation of our universe are finally being recognized by Christian scientists and non-Christian scientists alike.
