This is an excellent short post by Michael Kruger. Anyone who has studied the legalistic requirements of the Law in the Old Testament, anyone who pondered the requirement to “Be holy because I am holy.” 1 Peter 1:16 or “Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” Matt 5:48 will note the HUGE significance of acquiring a righteous status before God through faith in Christ as this post clarifies. The Apostle Paul’s Epistle to the Romans, as you probably know, is one of the most important books in the New Testament. It is where the Apostle Paul hammers out many of our Christian doctrines. If you have never done a detailed study of Romans I would strongly encourage you to do so. This specific study was designed as a “regular” Bible Study for regular people, even though it was presented at a leading seminary. An excellent opportunity awaits you if you are open to it!
