Lazy Days of Summer

The weather is too nice to be inside today and here in Canada we don’t get that many of these beautiful days. However, it did cross my mind that whenever we have the opportunity, we can always give thanks and say a prayer for those within the body of Christ that may not be as fortunate as us at this current point in time.

1 Thessalonians 5:18 NIV “give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

I think of Nabeel Qureshi who is currently fighting cancer, say a prayer for his healing and remember his family. I think of Bill and Mary Sweeney, and their witness to the power of God’s grace in dealing with ALS. I think of our brothers and sisters who have lost loved ones and how summer is not the same this year. I think of those who provide care for their husbands/wives and may not be able to get out in the sun as much as they would like. I think of those caring for a sick child with fewer opportunities to enjoy the sun. I think of those who are in danger and lacking bare necessities, necessities that we so easily take for granted.

Say a quiet prayer for the part of our church body that is suffering, say a prayer of thankfulness for the grace we receive. The beauty of prayer is that you can do it anywhere.
