For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Romans 10:9-13 KJV  “ That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.”

  1. if we confess with our mouth the Lord Jesus
  2. and we believe in our heart that God raised Jesus from the dead
  3. we shall not be ashamed and shall be saved

Now I know there’s a lot of “other stuff” we could add to this but this is what God’s Word says and I’m pretty sure that the Apostle Paul was aware of that “other stuff” when he uttered these words. I’m also grateful that Paul only used one “if”. Not 2, 3 or 4 “if’s”, just 1.

The simplicity of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Worthy is the Lamb! Blessings!

  1. AMEN! Simple and straight forward. We can do none of these unless the Holy Spirit works through the heart to verbal confession. All is the working of God’s grace and for HIs glory.
These are good words to start the week, confessing and living in the joy of our salvation. Have a blessed week in the Lord, Bruce.
