I think I have watched just about every video on YouTube that Nabeel has been in. There was just something about Nabeel’s enthusiasm and love for God that captivated me, much like the utter determination and earnestness of King David’s zeal for God, to trust in Him and be in the presence of God, that we can read and experience in the Book of Psalms. And if you’ve had the pleasure of reading Nabeel’s book entitled “Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus“, you’ll already know exactly what I mean. Of course, Nabeel recently died from stomach cancer when he was just 34 years old, just a few months ago. His death hit many of us, in the body of Christ, very hard.
I’ve published a good number of posts on and about Nabeel on this blog and you can easily get all of them to automatically come up by selecting Nabeel Qureshi in the “Post Categories” option on the right side of my Home page. If you want to see faith and love for God in action, right up to the very end, take the time to view the videos that he produced while he was going through his treatments for stomach cancer. You can view all of his VLog Series videos during his illness in my post entitled “Please Pray For Our Brother Nabeel“. Nabeel was looking for God to heal him, as so many of us were, but if it was God’s will to take Nabeel home, Nabeel was OK with that too. I really miss Nabeel.
If you’ve already read “Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus” (which I highly recommend), you’ll know how earnestly and without reserve Nabeel wanted to find and to know God and what his most heartfelt and supreme desire, would ultimately cost him, specifically with regard to his Father and Mother and family that he loved so very much. This was the quest of Nabeel’s life, there is nothing else that meant anything greater to him, he had to find and know God and nothing, absolutely nothing could or would stand in his way, not even himself.
That is the one side of the coin about Nabeel, the strongly focused search, the inner struggle, the agonizing ultimate decision that we all could identify with, some more, some less, in so many different ways. But it is the other side of the coin where Nabeel became my brother, where the tangible realization, the ownership of truth, the closeness of God’s presence in Nabeel’s life, bonded us together. And you can see this in the videos that Nabeel is in, he is totally alive and blatantly honest about knowing God, you can hear it in the words he uses, you can feel his sincerity and you can see it in his body mannerisms. Nabeel had been united with Jesus, maybe not in the same ranks as King David or the Apostle Paul or the Apostle Peter, but there was no doubt that Nabeel was in for the long haul. I envied Nabeel’s faith and I identified with Nabeel’s humanness.
You can look at a good number of quotes from Nabeel that he left us here. One of my favourite quotes reads as follows: “Would it be worth it to pick up my cross and be crucified next to Jesus? If He is not God, then, no. Lose everything I love to worship a false God? A million times over, no!
But if He is God, then yes. Being forever bonded to my Lord by suffering alongside Him? A million times over, yes!” – Nabeel Qureshi “Seeking Allah, Finding Jesus”.
I’m going to list just five of my favourite Nabeel Qureshi videos below and I would recommend and/or suggest that you watch and listen to them from time to time, like I do, to renew and strengthen your faith, like they do for me. Nabeel and his wife Michelle, was and are a gift to us from God.
Worthy is the Lamb! Blessings!
