Well That Was Weird

For the last couple of days I’ve had a bit of a headache while at work. I don’t usually get headaches so it was a bit odd that they came about for two days running, when I was working for two straight days. I only work for five days out of every fourteen days (semi-retired) and the most consecutive days that I work is two. It wasn’t a bad headache, more annoying than anything and I took a common pain reliever both times and it pretty well took it away. And of course, as I often do when I’m at work, when I have free time, I was reading and studying God’s Word. But then last night I had a dream and in the dream people were being subjected to mind manipulation without their knowledge and when I woke up I had a very strong sense that the unconscious mind manipulation was actually happening because the dream that I had had, seemed so real. Almost like I had to convince myself that it was only a dream. And of course, there was the accompanying relief that it was only a dream. Or was it ……?

Ya, I know, this isn’t how I normally talk, I’m a pretty grounded guy, I’d like to think I’m reasonably down to earth in most if not all aspects of reasoning. That’s why I really like Christian Apologetics, because it is based on factual information, information that is researched and proven so that you can depend on it.

But what with all the things that are going on in the world as of late, where there’s times that I honestly think that some people are losing their minds, it makes me wonder just what stabilizing things we Christians need to be doing, to keep our hearts and minds focused on the real realities of this life that we are living and what powers might be in play to offset us maintaining that stabilized and Bible based overview of spiritual reality.

Ephesians 6:10-18 NIV

“10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”

Could I be out in left field about the dream, quite possibly so, in fact I’d say you could almost bet on it if I was only relying on humanistic thinking but do you remember the Scripture verse about old men dreaming dreams?

Acts 2:16-17 NIVNo, this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel:
“‘In the last days, God says,
I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,
your young men will see visions,
your old men will dream dreams.”

Lord knows I qualify as being an old man and I definitely did have that dream. Heaven only knows what flaming arrows are being directed at God’s children. But we are not defenceless, God has provided us with armour to offset that which turns God’s reasoning upside down, that says wrong is right and right is wrong. Where mercy is forgotten and justice is only for those who have the power to impose their will on the weak and unity is being replaced with division.

Maybe the dream was a warning, a kind of heads up if you will, something to be aware of, to be mindful of, in these times of turmoil and uncertainty.

2 Timothy 1:7 KJV “For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”

Worthy is the Lamb! Blessings!

Oh I think you are right. So much is coming our way that most of it we aren’t even aware of.
But then…I really do think time is very, very short. We need to be ready for what ever comes and not be surprised at anything.
