One Day Your War Will End | Iain Duguid

I’m reposting the outstanding post by Professor Iain Duguid because the truth it contains is profound and I don’t use that word lightly. I’ve never heard this truth stated like this before and God’s Holy Spirit within me resonated with it’s truth and our subsequent triumph, which is in Christ. Please take the time to read it and let this truth become your own.

is Professor of Old Testament at Westminster Seminary, Philadelphia, and author of several books, including The Whole Armor of God: How Christ’s Victory Strengthens Us for Spiritual Warfare. A native of Great Britain, Duguid served as a missionary in Liberia before completing a PhD in Old Testament at Cambridge University. He and his wife, Barbara, have six grown children.

Nearly all Christians are familiar with the armor of God in Ephesians 6:10–20. But fewer are aware that the armor Paul describes traces its roots back to the Old Testament. In fact, the armor given to the Christian for his fight against the forces of sin and darkness is quite literally God’s armor — armor designed for and worn by God first and foremost. We fight and stand firm against Satan only in the strength that comes from the victory that Christ has already won for us.

  3. Thank you for this, Bruce. Have you read The Sovereignty of God? Every Christian needs to. It is a blessing to read again and again of how we can trust, rest, and do battle in His name and power. Blessings for your week.
