A Journey Story

I don’t know how many times I have heard a testimony that included the prayer words “God, if you’re real …” but I’m sure I have heard many, including my own.

This video is 21 minutes long. It’s a testimony of God’s love and His ability to touch our hearts like no other, even when we think there’s no hope, even when we think that it just isn’t possible.

It’s a witness to the beauty of God’s willingness to include personal detail that speaks solely to our own hearts, which in itself, is kind of amazing.

Do you need to be lifted? Watch it.

Do you need to have your memory refreshed? Watch it.

Do you need to be brought to the place where you can praise God? Watch it.

You’re going to be blessed!

  1. I sort of hate that expression. Lord if you are real. I get it that some people are not there yet, but seriously, someone cant actually have real faith if they do not believe.
They must, not might but Must believe that he is and be a rewarder of those who diligently seek him.
Part of unbelieve is contempt. we fail to deal with the contempt and so many do not realize that really their issue is not belief but contempt. Once a person takes down the walls and gives credit for the creation of all things to God, and that they are at his mercy, then they can come to God, repent and follow him.
Until that happens, the autonomy of delusional ownership of ones own self clouds any true salvation. That is way many on that day will say… Lord, and he will say I never knew you. They still have God on trial when really its always and only been them who had something to answer for.

    • Well believe it or not, that was my first prayer and God honoured it and as I have heard many times, I am not alone. God hears the cry of our hearts. Blessings.

      • I get it, when people pray it. It still makes me cringe. Its one of the reasons our spiritual diet needs to focus on belief. Its impossible to please God without it. So developing peoples trust and faith in God by ensuring his existence with proofs deals with their belief so they then can put faith in the God they truly believe in. A confidence in God can only come with a solid belief.

So the “help my unbelief” prayer of someone seeking help is a worthy one and we should naturally help with that.

      • I think so, even the “help my unbelief” is in essence a prayer of faith. You’re opening the door and God will and does sometimes honour that. Blessings my friend.

  2. I’ve just watched this, Bruce, and I’m completely overcome … in a good way. What a wonderful and moving testimony! Thank you for sharing. 🙏
It brings to mind a time when my faith was hanging on by a thread – not by any fault of God, but by my own sin. I was drinking heavily and getting to the end of my tether with it. One night, at bed time, I was crying softly to myself (didn’t want to wake hubby). I clasped my hands tightly and asked God to help me. That’s all I could say, “please help me God”. I hadn’t prayed in ages and I wasn’t sure if God would hear my prayer. Eventually, after much sobbing, I fell asleep.
God did hear my prayer. He didn’t take the drink away from me instantly, but he helped me with the desire not to drink. Gradually, the times in between drinking got longer and now it’s a thing of the past.
I’m glad I was brought to the point of desperation that I could once more cry out to him. The glory is all God’s … I couldn’t do it on my own.

    • Hi Lesley, God did the same thing for me and for my daughter with regard to drinking. My daughter was literally on death’s door. I was to the point where I could not sleep anymore without drinking myself into oblivion. I know exactly what you mean. I literally said the words “God if you are real” God’s grace, sheer grace. My turning point took place on the steps of a military barrack block in Ottawa, Ontario, here in Canada. You can read about it here if you’d like: https://bcooper.wordpress.com/2018/09/02/a-whole-different-world/

It’s the deeply personal things that God does for us every once in a while that just boggles my mind. I’d love to experience them every day but it doesn’t work that way. God gives you just enough to stretch your faith. Here is one that He did for me when I had mentioned needing a hug in a morning prayer.

There are other “stories” of course but I have to remind myself from time to time of the reality of God’s love because sometimes He does feel distant, even though He is still there. There is a difference. It’s really hard explaining that to someone but I do know what you mean.

I do know this, that we are loved by God beyond what our minds and hearts can even imagine. And that totally boggles my mind too. He knows us inside out and He still loves us and it’s all because of Jesus.

You have yourself a blessed day Lesley and put me on your prayer list if you think of it. I have you on mine.

God’s grace, peace and blessings to you and yours.
