Addressing Abiogenesis and Common Misconceptions – James M. Tour Ph.D.

James M. Tour is an American chemist and nanotechnologist. He is a Professor of Chemistry, Professor of Materials Science and NanoEngineering, and Professor of Computer Science at Rice University in Houston, Texas.

For those of you who are interested in Abiogenesis (Abiogenesis is the scientific term referring to the origin of life), Dr James M. Tour has put together a series of 14 video presentations that cover the following topics:

0 – Reasons for this Series

1 – Introduction to Abiogenesis

2 – Primordial Soup

3 – Hype

4 – Homochirality

5 – Carbohydrates

6 – Building Blocks of Building Blocks

7 – Peptides

8 – Nucleotides

9 – Intermediate Summary & A Call to Colleagues

10 – Lipids

11 – Chiral-induced Spin Selectivity

12 – Cell Construction & The Assembly Problem

13 – Summary & Projections

You may access this highly informative video series via the links provided directly above or access them directly from Dr James Tour’s YouTube channel here.

Note: If you are unable to via the complete series, I highly recommend you at least watch the 13th video: Summary & Projections!

Worthy is the Lamb! Blessings!

  1. I will try to watch these. I’ve seen Dr Tour’s interview of Dr John Sanford on genetic entropy which was very informative. It was mainly about mutation-selection leading to extinction, not evolution. I don’t know what kind of mechanism there could be for abiogenesis. Genesis 1-11 is the best explanation for why we are here and why we are not in paradise.
