Bruce, I appreciate this resources page and recognize the great amount of effort it obviously took to create it. Thanks for including my blog as a resource for understanding Roman Catholicism.

Thanks for the kind words Tom. We all try to do our little part, but I’m thinking that it is us that should be thanking you, for your faithful witness to Biblical truth and the fallacies of Roman Catholicism. That’s not an easy road to walk, but it is oh so necessary. What especially makes me appreciative is the tone of caring that I see that you have for the masses who follow the RC doctrines and traditions and how you separate the leadership within the RC Church from the common people, which is no mean feat. God’s blessings to you and yours as always. Love in Christ – Bruce

Thanks, Bruce. I have occasionally lost my bearings and lumped the credulous RC pewsitters (and bloggers) in with the clergy and apologists, but I try not to do that. God’s blessings to you as well!

Hey Bruce, do you have a resource on the Apostle’s Creed (specifically did Jesus go to Hell)?

Actually one of the folks I follow is doing a long study on the Apostle’s Creed, I will get back to you shortly!

Hi Cindy, the gentleman’s name is Donald Norris and his blog is h4i.us but he is doing a study on the Nicene Creed, not the Apostle’s Creed, Did Jesus go to hell – short answer – yes and no. Here is a link that explains: https://gracepresby.co.za/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/position-paper-on-he-descended-into-hell.pdf

I may be wrong, but Jesus descending into Hell sounds like blasphemy to me. It doesn’t line up with other NT Scriptures in my opinion. I was visiting a Methodist Church recently and almost fell over when they made this confession! (reciting the Apostle’s Creed) If I’m wrong, God will have to show me. Thanks, Bruce. Blessings!

Hades Cindy, not the same thing. gotquestions.org explains it well.

But the Apostle’s Creed, which is recited in many churches, says Hell.

True, but it has to do with the word being translated as “hell”. The PDF position paper I initially sent you explains that part quite well. Here it is again: https://gracepresby.co.za/wp/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/position-paper-on-he-descended-into-hell.pdf
