Of all the images of Jesus, one of my favorites is the Good Shepherd, and it’s been a long time since I’ve pictured Him “meek and mild.” The image I have is often of a Shepherd standing between a helpless lamb (me) and the ravenous wolves that threaten it. He swings His rod in an arc, and the wolves either back away or are flung, yelping, into the thicket. It makes me feel secure to know He’s not going to let anything happen to me that would really harm me.

I can identify Annie, many years ago, when coming off hard drinking, at night, I would lay down at His feet. Blessings!
