Of all the mornings that have ever occured, this Easter morning, when Jesus the Christ, the Son of God, rose from the dead, is the morning above all mornings. I can be standing on a mountain top or deep in a valley, I can be surrounded with plenty or have needs that seem insurmountable, I can be encompassed by loved ones or be all alone, it matters not. Because here, on this Easter morning, many years ago, Jesus, the Son of the living God, showed me and all of us who believe in Him, that indeed He is King of Kings, Lord of Lords and the Alpha and Omega.
There are a lot of things that I don’t fully comprehend or understand, but this one thing I do know. Jesus told all of us that believe in Him that because He lives, we also shall live. He truly is the way, the truth and the life. He is the hand of God reaching out to us, He is our lifeline, He is our Saviour. And all of this, in totality, from beginning to end, is the expression of God’s love, that not one of us deserve.
It doesn’t matter what color we are or what language we speak, it doesn’t matter how many times we may have tried and failed and it doesn’t matter what status in life we have achieved or not achieved, what matters, what truly matters, is in whom our hope and trust is.
I don’t care who you are, there is none that I have ever met that do not place their hope in something or someone. But all things will eventually fail you and the someone’s who are not Jesus can only take you so far, and that includes yourself, if in fact they or you, can take you anywhere at all, but Jesus is indeed the first born. He and He alone opened the way. Our heavenly Father determined it and Jesus did it. Jesus did not waver, He followed through, because He is of the Father and He completely followed our Father’s will. And it is not God’s will that any should perish, no not one, we all are His creation but we all are not all His children.
This morning, this Easter morning that happened so long ago, is the morning where God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit proclaimed and proved that eternal life in the presence of our Holy and loving God was available and found in none other than the Son. Because Jesus passed from death unto live, so also shall we.
And when all is said and done, whether we live or whether we die, we who believe in Jesus are the Lord’s and we SHALL see Him face to face. This morning, so long ago, God declared it once and for all and I believe it.
Romans 8:29-30 NASB
“For those whom He foreknew, He also predestined to become conformed to the image of His Son, so that He would be the firstborn among many brethren; and these whom He predestined, He also called; and these whom He called, He also justified; and these whom He justified, He also glorified.”
Revelation 5:11-12 NASB
“Then I looked, and I heard the voice of many angels around the throne and the living creatures and the elders; and the number of them was myriads of myriads, and thousands of thousands, saying with a loud voice,
“Worthy is the Lamb that was slain to receive power and riches and wisdom and might and honor and glory and blessing.”
All of this, began on that Friday morning when Jesus died on that cross for our sins and then, on the third day, as He said He would, Jesus rose again from the dead on Easter morning, so many years ago.
There are no other mornings like this morning. None.
A blessed Easter to one and all whose hope is in this Easter morning!
Worthy is the Lamb! Blessings!
Amen!
