So, I Wait On Him – Mary Sweeney

I know a lot of you remember Bill Sweeney and what an inspiration he was. Every once in a while I go back to Bill’s blog and read over some of his posts. Bill was definitely someone who was special, and I still miss him dearly to this very day. But this morning I read over a post from Bill’s wife, Mary, after Bill had gone home and I wanted to share it with you all. I think it is one of the most beautiful posts I have ever read. It’s about resting in God in the moments of our deepest need. Mary’s prayer in her post was that Bill’s words will help someone else as much as they did her. Mary’s post is linked directly below. Take the time to read it, I can’t see how you could not be blessed.

  1. Bruce, thank you so much for bringing this back and giving me a chance to connect with Mary once again. I think you introduced me to Bill. Thank you for that too! Sending blessings back to you❤️

  2. Thank you for your encouragement, Bruce. I still miss Bill dearly also, and always will. You were his friend. I just told someone else that his blogging friends were as important as we were! God knew he needed you all to persevere.
PS. I’m still getting your email hit or miss. I never got this one. I couldn’t figure out why I was getting “likes” on this blog, then Deborah solved the mystery and mentioned it on the blog.
When your email drops in I stop and pray for you and Peggy. How is she (and you) doing?

    • Hi Mary, we’re doing OK, all things considered. Peg is also scheduled for a hip replacement soon due to arthritis, so the memory issues, coupled with loss of mobility, wears her down at times but God’s grace continues to balance it out. Some days are touch and go but I try to just focus on the day that we are in. And heavy on the prayers, God knows how much I depend on Him! That was a beautiful post you wrote and when I read it the other morning, I just had to share it. You just never know how God will use it to bless someone. Thank you for your prayers, I lift you up likewise. Don’t be a stranger! Blessings!

      • Thank you for your prayers and encouragement, Bruce. I will continue to pray for y’all. Praying for the surgery and recovery. I’ve seen others have more energy after their knee and hip replacements bc all that energy that was taken to deal with the pain is now gone. Praying this will be the case for Peg. Keep focusing on the day then you will be able to enjoy those moments together even in the midst of suffering.
